Ecology, Economics, Cultures of the Mekong Basin: From Keng Kood Koo to Pha Chan in A Changing Course records the story of Mekong riparian communities from  25 subdistricts in 7 provinces of northeastern Thailand (Isaan). The study began in 2011 and concluded in May 2014. The book aims to bring to life the knowledge possessed uniquely shaped by southeast Asia’s longest international river, the Mekong River. It illustrates the delicate complexity of Mekong hydrology and sub-ecosystems and how these provide the basis of life and natural resources to the people along the river. The book explores local cultures and socioeconomic values of natural resources with a hint of history and way of life. Policies related to the wellbeing of the Mekong River, specifically, hydropower development projects along the Mekong mainstream are featured in the book as well.

This is a translated summary version of the originally published Thai language book in May 2015 called นิเวศ เศรษฐกิจ วัฒนธรรมลุ่มน้ำโขง จากแก่งคุดคู้ถึงผาชัน ในกระแสการเปลี่ยนแปลง
